Bivouac in Mahela Tour

An opportunity to see all the beauty of the Pangalanes Canal up close in a minimum of time. Departure from our dock, visits to the villages of Amboanato, specializing in beekeeping, weaving mats, baskets and traditional hats ... and Ampandimana where you can discover artisan workshops (weaving, basketry, cage and pirogue construction, forge ...). Continuation by crossing the extraordinary bay of Andragnazavaka with its immense stretch of water as far as the eye can see.

Arrival in Ambohitsara, the last northernmost village on the east coast built by the Antambahoaka ethnic group, visit of the enigmatic "Vato Sarilambo" recounting the origin of this ethnic group. If you opt for a 3-day circuit, overnight in a bivouac or in a hostel.
Otherwise, we turn back towards the south to reach the village of Mahela, a charming little fishing village huddled by coconut trees. Off the day with the population, bivouac on a huge lawn in the middle of the village, lively evening with dances and folk songs of the villagers.

The next day, after breakfast, walking tour of the village of Anilavinany where the "gite" and "the Anchor of Jean Laborde" are located. It’s time to know the history of this French industrialist who brought a lot of his know-how to the kingdom of Madagascar. After lunch in the shade of a large parasol at Ambinany Efaka’s lagoon, peaceful sailing to Mananjary. Arrival at our dock.
